India to Launch Complete Manufacturing
New Delhi, India — Exhibitions India Group has launched India's complete manufacturing event — India Manufacturing Week (IMW). IMW will take place August 27-29, 2008 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

IMW 08 will provide a unique international platform for manufacturers to meet suppliers of machinery, machine tools, assembly equipment, and related products and services. The event will co-locate several events: Automation & Instrumentation Tech India 2008; IT for Manufacturing India 2008; Nano & Bio Tech India 2008.

Exhibits will include: machinery and capital goods; assembly line components; tools and mechanical components; related products and services; nano and biotechnology; assembly automation; instrumentation; IT used by manufacturers.

A special feature of the expo will be Buyer/Seller meetings in three overall categories: machinery, machine tools, and IT and related services.

This new trade show represents the immense opportunities available in India's emerging manufacturing growth. The Indian manufacturing industry, currently valued at $26 billion US, has recorded an impressive growth of 12.5 percent during 2006-07. The industry is expected to grow by another 16 percent over the next two years. Manufacturing currently accounts for about 53 percent of India's exports and receives more than two-thirds of total foreign investments.

With its fourth-largest manufacturing base among emerging economies, experienced work force, large pool of scientists, engineers and managers, reasonable endowment of natural resources and a large domestic market, India is on its way to emerging as a major manufacturing hub for the global market.
