Digitaltest Upgrades Flying Prober & Compatibility Software
Next generation flying probe tester.
Concord, CA — Digitaltest has introduced its second generation Flying Prober Condor MTS-500 which reportedly utilizes unique drive technology, linear motors, and closed-loop technology. The result is a 30 percent faster test operation, while assuring high accuracy in fine pitch applications. Options include the company's proprietary "Soft Landing" technology, guaranteeing damage-free testing of even the most delicate high-density boards as well as integrated boundary-scan.
The company has invested substantially in creating migration tools necessary to take old programs and fixtures from major ATE companies and migrating them to its state-of-the-art test platform. The answer is an open concept to translate existing and debugged test programs and provide fixture adapters to run different fixtures on the company's test systems.
Due to the non-multiplexed system structure, the MTS300 test system is able to emulate existing test programs and fixtures from other platforms like GenRad, Teradyne, Agilent etc. This ability to exchange programs and fixtures with other test manufacturers' systems effectively makes the MTS300 a "neutral platform", which can save both time and money.
Customers still using ATE equipment designed in the 1970s and 1980s are now facing problems with part obsolescence issues and field service support for those outdated systems. The MTS300 presents a method to overcome these problems without wasting any previous investment.
The Digitizer simplifies the generation of test data for these boards for which no CAD data is available. New Digitizer software offers easy and professional technology that enables the user to generate the required layout information from any assembled sample board. The user-friendly graphical interface assists with the generation of component and test data and with the help of the CONDOR Flying Probe system, the evaluation of the electrical nets is a fully automated task.
