Novatech Launches Dual Sig Gen
Dual signal generator.
Seattle, WA — Novatech Instruments, Inc. has introduced the Model 2918A, a benchtop 170MHz, two-channel, direct digital synthesized signal generator. The instrument's two independent sine wave outputs are phase synchronous, defaulting to quadrature, and can be individually set to any value between 0.1Hz and 170MHz with a resolution of 0.1Hz. The phase between the channels can be controlled with 14-bit resolution.
The standard output level is +4dBm with 10 bits of programming range. The instrument contains an internal temperature compensated crystal timebase that is stable to ±2ppm per year. An optional feature enables locking to an external reference.
The new signal generator's front-panel 2-line by 16-character backlighted LCD has an associated rotary encoder and control buttons for setting the desired frequency on each of two channels. The output frequencies, phase and amplitudes can be controlled remotely using an RS-232 computer interface and simple text commands. Menu-based software is included. All settings can be saved in non-volatile memory.
