EPCOS Develops Injection-Molded Heating Elements
Injection-molded ceramic heating elements.
Iselin, NJ — PTC heating elements from EPCOS can now be manufactured using injection molding technology. As a result components can be made in any nearly any desired shape, including tubes, nozzles or rotor blades of ventilators. The shapes are not only as round disks, rings or rectangular plates as before, but custom-fitted shapes that open up many new applications for ceramic heating elements.
Because the heating elements can be incorporated precisely where the heat is required, they also avoid transmission losses and save energy. As a result, these customized heating elements are especially well suited for heating liquids and gases as well as for use in applications with high demands on power density under restricted space conditions.
