NKK Intros Ultra-Submini PCB Pushbuttons
Ultra-submini PCB pushbuttons.
Scottsdale, AZ — NKK Switches has introduced its GB2 Series of ultra-thin and ultra-miniature pushbutton switches. The GB2 series addresses the demands of design engineers for low cost, reliable and effective solutions for even the most intricate of designs.

Measuring just 7 x 7 x 2.5mm, the new pushbuttons are especially suitable for high-density PC board mounting and other applications where board space is at a minimum. These switches are also suitable for block or ganged mounting.

The switches have off-center plungers that further facilitate mounting in tight spaces, and the unique plunger design also helps prevent accidental actuation. In addition, the company's Sliding Twin Crossbar contact mechanism reportedly provides excellent logic level switching reliability and a positive, smooth detent actuation. These switches are momentary circuit, SPST and are also available with an OFF momentary-ON configuration. They carry a rating of 0.4VA maximum at 28VAC/DC maximum and their mechanical and electrical life is recommended for 50,000 operations minimum.

The switches are constructed of glass fiber reinforced polyamide and have a flammability rating of UL94V-0. They can be ordered in straight PC, straight PC with support bracket and right angle bracketed PC in a single or double switch mounted configuration. The PC footprint is a standard 2.54 x 2.54mm (0.1 x 0.1-in.) for easy PC board layout and terminals are molded-in and epoxy sealed to lock out flux and other contaminants.

Red, black or white pushbutton caps can be specified, and a mounting bracket for block mounting is also available.
