SynQor Releases Family of DC/DC Converters
Boxborough, MA — SynQor has introduced the IQ12 series, expanding its InQor family of isolated DC-DC converters for industrial and transportation applications using 12V battery systems. Available as standard products, the IQ12 converters accept an input range of 9-22Vin, exceeding the requirements of EN50155 for both steady state and transient voltage conditions in 12V railway systems.
The IQ12 converters incorporate next-generation, board-mountable, fixed switching frequency technology, and use synchronous rectification to achieve power conversion efficiencies approaching 92 percent.
Fully encased and ruggedized for protection from harsh environments, the IQ12 series is available in eleven output voltages, including 1.8, 3.3, 5, 7, 12, 15, 24, 28, 30, 40, and 48V. Four power level options are available to optimize cost, performance and space in new designs. The 180W and 140W converters are offered in the industry-standard half brick form factor, while the 100W and 75W converters are available in the standard quarter brick form factor.
The broad range of power levels and output voltages makes the IQ12 series suitable for a variety of applications using 12V battery systems, such as industrial automation, process control, electronic equipment on transit buses, construction, mining and maintenance vehicles, forklifts, and other industrial vehicles. The use of fixed switching frequency technology simplifies EMI filtering when the IQ12 converter is used in combination with the complementary IQ040PFQTC30 filter module.
The DC-DC converters provide on/off control referenced to input side, remote sense for the output voltage and an output voltage trim range of -20 percent, +10 percent. Protection features include input under-voltage lockout, input over-voltage shutdown, output current limit and short circuit protection, active back bias limit, output over-voltage protection and thermal shutdown. All models have at least 2250VDC isolation rating between input and output, are rated with MTBF values in excess of 2MHrs, and are fully 6/6 RoHS compliant.
