Murata Intros New SIP DC/DC Converters
SIP converter module.
Mansfield, MA — Murata Power Solutions has added new 6 and 10 Amp models with wide input voltage range to its Okami PoL DC/DC converter range — the OKR-T/6-W12 Series and the OKR-T/10-W12 Series.

Both current models have a wide input voltage range of 4.5 to 14VDC and programmable output voltage 0.591 to 6.0VDC. The converters are able to drive up to 200µF capacitive loads, while their miniature SIP packaging minimizes the amount of PCB real estate required. The new units are non-isolated Point-of-Load (PoL) DC/DC power converters. The SIP packaged though-hole mounting miniature devices combine a wide input voltage range with programmable output voltage to give engineers a high degree of flexibility in their designs. The comprehensive range of PoL DC/DC power converters offers designers a choice of 3A, 6A and 10A modules in both through-hole and surface-mount formats. The use of common, industry-standard pinouts across the entire product range helps simplify inclusion of the devices in both existing and new designs. Applications include the powering of ASICs, FPGAs, DSPs, microprocessors and communications ICs in both datacom and industrial equipment. Based on 600kHz synchronous buck topology, the converters offer high power conversion efficiencies of 93 percent and 92 percent the 6 and 10 amp units.

Both modules deliver outstanding thermal derating performance and provide over-temperature and over-current protection, On/Off control, and under-voltage lock out (UVLO).

Overall dimensions for both modules are 0.41 x 0.65 x 0.3-in. (10.4 x 16.5 x 7.62mm). Operating temperature range is -40 to +85°C. The units are designed to meet UL/EN/EC 60950-1 safety and FCC EMI/RFI emissions certifications and are RoHS-6 compliant.
