High Density One Piece Interface from Samtec
High density interface connectors.
New Albany, IN — Samtec's newly released High Density One Piece Interface, integrated with Plastronics' spring-loaded H-Pin® contact, is designed with excellent electrical, mechanical and thermal features.

This interface is a low-cost, space-saving alternative to other spring-loaded contacts and pin-and-socket systems; it does not sacrifice high-speed performance and maintains a reliable connection. The company's 1mm (0.0394-in.) SCA Series has a low profile 3.60mm (0.142-in.) stack height and is available in 4 or 8 rows with up to 320 total spring-loaded contacts that will rotate in the body of the interface.

The spring-loaded H-Pin contact utilizes a low-cost stamped construction with machined pogo pin performance capable of 5,000+ spring cycles. The H-Pin contact has a total pin deflection of up to 0.7mm, and a flat spring rate for stable initial contact resistance of 28mΩ. The large deflection provides compliancy for large package warpage. The pin is constructed of Beryllium Copper for solid electrical performance and a stainless steel core spring designed for high temperature compliancy.

The High Density One Piece Interface provides a current-carrying capacity of 1.1A per contact at 30°C temperature rise with 8 pins powered. In addition, dual alignment pins on top and bottom are standard for alignment on the board.

Samtec offers a wide variety of flexible One Piece Interface solutions. Interfaces are available in stack heights from 0.64mm to an elevated 10mm in a choice of 1mm (0.0394-in.), 1.27mm (0.050-in.) and 2.54mm (0.100-in.) pitches. High Density Interfaces can provide up to 900 dual compression contacts. Additional ruggedizing options include locking clips and screw-down inserts.
